The Women of Geelong Killing It Right Now

Every so often we need that pleasant reminder; who run the world? Girls.

This is where the stories of the successful ladies of Geelong come in. They inspire us, motivate us and encourage us to keep kicking some serious butt.

If you haven't already heard, these fabulous ladies are powering through the #girlboss scene of Geelong right now.

Needing a little bit of a pick me up on your Monday morning? You'll find your next girl crush below. These ladies are a force to be reckoned with.

Maddison Osburn - The Aesthetic Skin Clinic

Opening less than 12 months ago, The Aesthetic Skin Clinic located on Malop Street in Geelong and its owner and founder Maddison Osburn have flipped the beauty industry of Geelong upside down.

Where chic luxurious meets high-medical, on arrival at the clinic you'll be feeling serious Soho, NY vibes. With minimalist interior, crisp white and marble counter tops, the clinic brings a whole new meaning to luxury beauty that Geelong has never seen before.

The Aesthetic Skin Clinic offers high-end, exclusive and non-surgical treatments that deliver incredible results at a budget friendly price. The ladies at the clinic are extremely knowledgeable and qualified in their fields - meaning you're always in safe and friendly hands.

What separates The Aesthetic Skin Clinic from the rest is how the clinic interacts with clients, especially through social media, which Maddison takes huge pride in. Having collaborated with bloggers, the clinic brings a fresh, young and unique vibe to Geelong that has attracted a squad of beauty mavens.

"I've worked with a lot of celebrities and personalities and that's been a point of difference that's worked quite well," Maddison says.

As promised, you'll be #TheAestheticSkinClinicAddicted in no time. I know I am.

Emily Ditcham - Cake Smith Geelong

Branching out from the uber successful Kilgour Street Cafe, comes something a little bit different, Cake Smith Geelong.

Opening a few months ago, pastry chef Emily Ditcham is the owner of Cake Smith Geelong - a small boutique patisserie located in the laneways of the Geelong CBD. Cake Smith is the first dessert-only bakery to open in Geelong and she's already selling out like hotcakes.

Putting her dessert talent to the test, Cakesmith boasts all those Parisian bakery vibes, offering delectable desserts - big and small for any occasion. Emily takes inspiration from her grandmother's baking and delivers classic and simple yet divine cakes that are seriously delectable.

Her insane talent for baking has her busy delivering goodies to cafes and restaurants throughout Geelong and the Bellarine.

If you haven't already checked out her Instagram, which is totally drool-worthy, pay Cake Smith a visit and treat yourself to one (or two) of the many insanely delicious cakes on offer. You won't regret it.

Hilary Holmes - Hilary Holmes Makeup Artistry

There is absolutely no doubt that Hilary is in the spotlight of Geelong's fashion and makeup scene. For Hilary, HHM has taken a pathway of empowering women which comes from her passion for makeup and awareness of the incredibly positive impact it can have on women.

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Hilary and chatting all things #bosslady.

Opening up the HHM studio in late 2016, Hilary has since attracted all the beauty mavens and socialites alike of Geelong. Her domination of the beauty scene doesn't just come from her incredible talent of makeup artistry, but her magical way of creating an empowering space and experience for the women she has attracted.

Coming from a background that totally is not make-up artistry, Hilary was made redundant from her job as an agricultural nutritionist which made her realise what her true passion was.

With no experience (apart from doing her friend's makeup and absolutely loving it) and having been told she wouldn't make it in the industry, Hilary was set to prove those who doubted her wrong so she moved to London to work for MAC Cosmetics - who she stayed with for seven years.

Having been exposed to the little self-confidence that so many women in London had, realising she had a talent for connecting with women, combined with her own struggles with depression from being overweight a large part of her life - a light bulb moment was created and so was the birth of HHM.

After her return to Geelong and becoming one of Geelong's most popular freelancers, Hilary opened her very own salon which is designed to provide a 'luxe' feel for her clients. Hilary's focus is based on making her clients feel 100% priority from the moment they enter the salon as well offering products and education that empower her clients.

Not only does she provide an incredible service at a beautifully decorated salon which has all been carefully tailored to astound you as you walk in (from the scents to the decor and the food she offers) - Hilary offers a huge variety of masterclasses where her passion is evidently shown, and her natural leadership blossoms.

Recently starting up a workshop with Kat John who has had a huge influence on her and her business, the chakra courses bring Kat's teachings combined with Hilary's creative vision to women of Geelong.

Whether it's a swipe of mascara or lippy, Hilary offers a totally fresh and unique type of service that is focused on getting to know her clients and translating their personality through make-up.

Hardly fussed by public success or awards, but holding the incredible relationships she creates with her clientele close to her heart - Hilary is by far one of the most radiating, realest and most inspiring women of Geelong I have had the privilege to meet who has worked her absolutely butt off to get where she is right now.

If there's anyone who is one to watch right now, it's undoubtedly Hilary.

Naturally, there are so many other women of Geelong right now kicking butt in the business scene that I could write on about them forever.

These ladies are only a handful few reiterating that yoncè phrase - who run the world?

Girls.
