There's a new Asian BBQ joint in Geelong

SUMI is the newest Asian eatery to hit the Geelong CBD.

Located on Gheringhap Street, SUMI will be open for lunch and dinner with Asian influenced bincho-tan BBQ. Which from a quick Google, binchotan involves using a charcoal that produces virtually no flames and no smoke.

From what we've seen so far, dishes are tapas style with such items as chicken skewers, grilled fish and corn cobs. It's all brought together by co-owner and chef Kyle Wang. There's also an extensive range of Asian alcohol to wash it down with.

The interior mirrors the popular styling other small eateries have adopted, with seating centred around a large counter and lined along the length of the room.

SUMI is open Tue to Sun 11:30am-2:30pm and 5-10pm. You can follow SUMI on Facebook.
