MAV's is Geelong's newest Greek restaurant
Authentic Greek has finally found a home in Geelong and it's found it with Mav's Restaurant.
Officially open today (Thursday, August 24) after a launch party last night, the restaurant promises traditional Greek cuisine with the celebrations to match.
The space itself reflects the best parts of Greek culture, with white render walls, cobalt blue tiles and images from the picturesque coastline of the Greek islands.
As for the menu, dine in on traditional items such as dolmades (vine leaves filled with mince, rice and herbs), kleftiko (junee lamb shoulder with roasted lemon potatoes), loukoumades (golden honey puffs sprinkled with cinnamon and walnuts) and many, many more.
And if there's anything we've learned from Greek restaurants is keep plenty of room free for a second serve. Hell, this may be the only time skipping lunch will be a good thing! See some of the tasty items we had at the launch below!
