Rook Cafe makes a mean Sri Lankan feast

Last week Rook Cafe celebrated its first birthday with two nights of massive Sri Lankan feasts - and we were lucky enough to go to one of them.
With three courses of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, we started the night off by sampling the wade and the pan roll.
Main was a choice of three options, though we chose the lentil hoppers and lamp lamprais.
Throughout the night service was attentive and even though there was a venue full of people there was never a long wait for food.
The night finished off with a traditional Sri Lankan dessert, Watalappan, made from palm treacle and yoghurt.
Rook is open during the week as a cafe offering a blend of modern Australian cuisine and Sri lankan dishes. You can find them over on Facebook.
