That Place Patisserie and Cafe is now open
Each day there seems to be a new cafe opening its doors in Geelong, and the newest one to do so is That Place patisserie and cafe in Belmont.
Opened by French-trained pastry chef Ashlea Allen, the cafe features rustic house-made treats perfect for a mid-morning snack or, really, a snack regardless what time it is.
Ashlea gained her skills after training at L'ecole Grégoire-Ferrandi, one of France's leading culinary training schools, where she learnt the fine art of Pâtisserie. She then went on to work in Paris at world renowned, La Pâtisserie des Rêves (under her idol Philippe Conticini), followed by Le Grenier à Pain.
The space is the perfect pit stop for a coffee as well as a traditionally French-made pastry item. The business takes custom orders and ensures products are locally sourced.
