Apparently tequila is good for your bones

We love a good shot of tequila in our margaritas or with a slice of lemon and salt, but we never knew it could be good for our bones!

The news came via a researcher in Mexico who found the plant produces two minerals essential for both heath; calcium and magnesium.

The study was conducted by the Center of Research and Advanced Studies in Mexico which involved mice ingesting the fructons from agave. The result was that 50 per cent more osteocalcin was produced (which is the protein that indicates bone growth) than the mice that didn't ingest the fructons.

That's enough for us! Time for tequila sunrise this weekend. For our bones of course.
