Thomas Murray from Frankie. crowned with Geelong's best espresso martini
Last night Thomas Murray from Frankie. was given the ultimate title for bartenders in Geelong, making the best espresso martini in town.
The competition ran at the 18th Amendment Bar with eight bartenders in total vying for the position of the best version of the cocktail in town.
On the night bartenders were required to bring their own special ingredients, and make two cocktails while mic'ed up and explaining the process of their recipe during its creation.
Variations on the classic saw the addition of figs, rum, rose water, berries and the surprising beetroot syrup.
Following Thomas, Liam Edmunds from the 18th Amendment Bar came second and Sam Zaid from Neighbour came third.
Gorge Camorra, owner of the 18th Amendment Bar, remarked he hoped this competition would become a regular occurrence. Commenting that last night's attendance saw more numbers in the crowd than competitions he's been to in Melbourne.
Congratulations to all the bartenders involved, and everyone else who came along for a good time!
