18th Amendment Bar is nominated for best cocktail bar in the state and Australia
Our humble cocktail bar the 18th Amendment Bar is hitting the big time, nominated at this year's Bartender Magazine Bar Awards for several categories - but there's no surprises there for those who have experienced the Little Malop Street venue.
Nominated for a whopping four awards, the 18th Amendment Bar will be going up against Australia's finest for Best Cocktail Bar in the State, Best New Bar, Best Regional Bar and Best Cocktail Bar in Australia.
Owned by Gorge Camorra, who created Geelong's very first cocktail with Cloud 9 on Pakington Street, the 18th Amendment Bar combines his passion and experience in the industry. Years of work, research and sourcing materials led to the creation of the 1920s themed prohibition bar, and the queues came as soon as the doors opened in mid-2017.
This isn't the first time the bar's name has been mentioned in awards, as each bartender (and Gorge himself) have entered and won several awards since opening. There's no denying the achievements of the venue, and it has certainly put Geelong on the map when it comes to a quality bar experience.
The awards take place in Sydney on Tuesday, September 18.
The Social Pages VIP team sends its best wishes to Gorge and the whole team. Good luck!
