A Geelong benefit gig for Chris Wilson and his family is in the works

Chris Wilson is a well-known name in Geelong, and has long been referred to as one of Australia's favourite and most-talented blues musicians.

Following the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist's recent cancer diagnosis, Cherry Bar in Melbourne promptly announced a benefit gig, with Geelong venue Pistol Pete's putting its hand up for a hometown version.

This benefit is a chance to show your love and support for Chris, his family and his music. Money raised will go towards medical costs and other financial costs for the family during this time.

The event will take place on Thursday, August 30 at Pistol Pete's in Geelong. A line up is yet to be released, but the venue has jumped on board hearing the news, stating on Facebook "He has brought so much music, passion, love, humour and talent to this joint for more than four years.
