One to try: Perla Tacos in Torquay
Once a pop up that toured festivals and venues around the region (like cafe Ocean Grind), Perla Tacos is now a fully-fledged venue.
Opening mid-August, the Torquay eatery specialises in all things tacos. With colourful interiors, indoor plants and lively service, the venue brings a little bit of Mexico to the coast.
Menu items range from an array of tacos through to burritos, bowls and tostadas. Snacks come via fries, chips, churros and corn cobs. All round, it's a Mexican fiesta with plenty of meat and vegetarian options.
We hope this little venue in Torquay sticks around for summer, because we certainly can't think of anything better than a few tacos with a side of beer.
The venue is open Thursday through to Sunday for lunch and dinner, with later times on Friday and Saturday.
